Meet the Program Staff at Elevate Basketball Academy

From coaching and mentoring to creative storytelling, these individuals play an essential role in helping our players grow and succeed.

Coach Derrick Grasmick (Coach G.)

Assistant Head Coach

Coach G brings a wealth of high school coaching experience and athletic insight to Elevate. He has served on the coaching staffs at Rio Grande High School and Pojoaque High School and is currently a member of the volleyball coaching staff at Pojoaque. A former varsity basketball player and state champion cross country runner at Pojoaque, Coach G understands what it takes to compete at a high level—and he brings that same competitive spirit and mentorship to our athletes. Off the court, he is finishing his student teaching at Capital High School, continuing his dedication to education and youth development.

Gavin Sanchez

Bench Coach

Gavin is a multi-sport athlete and student at St. Michael’s, competing in both wrestling and baseball. He’s a standout on the wrestling mat and a reliable pitcher on the baseball team. Though this is his first coaching role, Gavin brings a fresh perspective, strong leadership, and a relatable presence to the bench. As a current student-athlete, he connects naturally with our players and plays a valuable role in both practice and game-time environments.

Violet Salazar

Media Coordinator

Violet is the creative force behind Elevate’s media and content. A student at Santa Fe High School, she’s a performer and artist who currently dances with Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and has performed with Pandemonium Theatre Company and NDI. With a passion for photography, visual storytelling, and marketing, Violet follows in the creative footsteps of her parents—Marissa, who works in the film industry, and Coach Salazar, who develops mobile apps and web solutions for government and child welfare programs. When she was young, they co-founded an ad agency called Ultra Violet Marketing, named after her. Her work helps keep the Elevate community connected and inspired through high-quality content that captures the heart of our program.
